2026 Website Audit Checklist

Does it look modern, feel trustworthy, and make it obvious what you do?

1. Can someone tell what you do in 5 seconds?

Your headline should say what you do, who it’s for, and the main result. No fluffy slogans.

2. Does the top of the page feel “premium” and up to date?

Clean layout, strong image, modern fonts, and enough spacing so it doesn’t look cramped.

3. Are the colours and fonts consistent?

Stick to a small set. Random colours and too many fonts makes a site feel cheap.

4. Does it feel trustworthy straight away?

Add proof near the top: reviews, logos, accreditations, “years in business”, or a clear guarantee.

Make it easy to scan, easy to read, and easy to feel confident.

5. Is the page easy to skim?

Short sections, clear headings, and bullet points where needed. Big “walls of text” lose people.

6. Does anything look cluttered or squashed?

Give content breathing room. More space often looks more expensive.

7. Do images look high quality (not stocky and dated)?

Use sharp, real photos where possible. If you use stock, choose modern and natural-looking images.

8. Does it look great on mobile?

Check headings, spacing, images, and buttons. Nothing should look tiny, cramped, or broken.

If people like what they see, can they contact you easily?

9. Is there a clear main button on every key page?

One main action: “Get a quote”, “Book a call”, “Check availability”. Keep it consistent.

10. Are contact details obvious?

Phone and email should be easy to find. On mobile, phone numbers should be tappable.

11. Is the form quick and friendly?

Ask only what you need. If it feels like a chore, people won’t finish it.

12. Do you guide people to the next step?

Tell them what happens after they enquire (response time, next steps, what you need from them).

Make visitors feel safe choosing you.

13. Do you show reviews where they matter?

Reviews should appear near services and near enquiry buttons, not hidden on one page.

14. Do you have examples of your work?

Before/after, case studies, galleries, or real results. Show, don’t just tell.

15. Do you explain your process simply?

A quick “How it works” section reduces uncertainty and makes people more likely to enquire.

16. Do you answer common worries?

Add a short FAQ: pricing, timing, what’s included, and anything people hesitate over.

Small tweaks that make your site feel smoother, newer, and more professional.

17. Are buttons and links easy to click?

On mobile, they should be big enough to tap without zooming or misclicking.

18. Are there any broken bits?

Check menus, buttons, contact forms, and key pages. Anything broken kills trust fast.

19. Does every page feel “finished”?

No empty sections, no mismatched spacing, no weird alignment, no outdated imagery.

20. Is it obvious how to get help or ask a question?

Give people a simple way to contact you on every key page. Don’t make them hunt.
