Property Conservation Services: doubling turnover within eight months
A new website. A joined-up marketing strategy. Growth that meant bigger premises, more staff and additional vans.
Property Conservation Services approached Click Return after becoming frustrated with their Yell.com website and advertising. They felt the website failed to reflect their expertise, while the campaigns weren’t generating the enquiries they expected.
Within eight months of launching their new website and Google Ads campaigns with Click Return, the Witney-based Damp Proofing & Basement Waterproofing business reported that turnover had doubled compared with the whole of the previous year.
Five years into our partnership, the story extends well beyond that initial success.

The starting point: a Yell.com website and advertising that wasn’t delivering
Based in Witney, Oxfordshire, Property Conservation Services Ltd helps customers resolve damp-related problems in their properties.
They had the expertise to help. But their online presence wasn’t communicating it effectively.
The client felt their Yell.com website was poorly designed and their Yell-managed advertising wasn’t converting. They told us that, despite paying for management through a dedicated account manager, Yell had never arranged a meeting with them. They also reported that their own investigation found no work had been carried out to optimise the advertising.
They came to Click Return looking for a new website. The wider opportunity was to connect their expertise with people who needed it—and give those people a compelling reason to get in touch.
We started with the customer’s problem
Before building the website, we worked through a detailed planning process to establish what prospective customers needed to understand, what would give them confidence and how the website should guide them towards an enquiry.
We built the new WordPress website around the StoryBrand framework: the customer is the person facing a problem, and Property Conservation Services is the expert guide who can help them resolve it.
That gave the website a clear purpose. Help visitors recognise their situation, understand the help available and feel confident taking the next step.
A website, Google Ads and SEO working towards the same goal
A website built to turn interest into enquiries
The new website brought the company’s expertise into focus, with messaging centred on customers’ damp-related concerns and the support available to resolve them. It created a stronger destination for both paid advertising and organic search traffic.
Google Ads to reach people actively looking for help
Alongside the website launch, we set up a new Google Ads account and began PPC campaigns to reach people searching for relevant services.
Over the following five years, the campaigns averaged a 15% conversion rate, with many individual months reaching 20% or higher. Those figures reflect the conversion actions tracked in Google Ads.
SEO that made their expertise visible
We supported the launch with ongoing search engine optimisation, publishing and optimising case studies and educational blog articles.
The case studies showcased the company’s work. The articles helped prospective customers understand damp-related problems and the expertise needed to address them.
Together, they gave people more ways to discover Property Conservation Services and more reasons to trust the team before making contact.
Within eight months, the business needed more room to grow
The clearest measure of success came from the business itself.
Within eight months of launching the website and PPC campaigns, Property Conservation Services reported that turnover had doubled compared with the previous year.
As the company grew, they hired additional staff, moved into bigger offices and invested in more work vans to accommodate demand.
More people. More space. More vans. A business with the capacity to take on more work.
For Click Return, this is what makes the partnership so rewarding: seeing the impact of our work reflected in the client’s day-to-day business.
Five years of partnership, with results beyond the initial launch
The early growth was followed by a long-term investment in the company’s online presence.
The supplied reporting for April 2021 to September 2026 records:
| Organic search measure | Reported result |
| Google search impressions | 646,405 |
| Sessions from Google organic traffic | 15,413 |
| Users from Google organic traffic | 12,745 |
| Engagement rate for Google organic traffic | 71.16% |
| Page views from Google organic traffic | More than 24,600 |
| Tracked conversion events from Google organic traffic | 842 |
These figures show the reach of the company’s search presence, the activity of visitors arriving through Google organic search and the conversion actions recorded along the way.
Alongside the five-year average Google Ads conversion rate of 15%, they demonstrate the continuing contribution of paid and organic search to the company’s marketing.
