My passion is to educate businesses on how to make their online presence work for them.
I love stats, spreadsheets, systemisation, design and teaching. I also love being on, in or under the water. (but I am not sure that is relevant to this bio.)

I have been helping companies with their websites & online presence since 1999 and started running Google Ads & Yahoo Ads for customer in 2002.
In 2005 I joined the Google Advertising Professional Program (this was the precursor to the current Google Partner Program) and it ensured that all “professionals” were qualified & knew what they were doing.
In 2013 Google sacked all “professionals” & relaunched as a partner program. Why did they do this? Some companies were passing the exams to get the badge & then providing a poor service to their customers or even ripping them off. To fix this Google changed the requirements to become a PARTNER. So not only do we need to pass exams each year so we are up to date with the latest Google Ads developments but every account we manage needs to pass a level of excellence this way Google knows that Partners are taking proper care of the accounts they run.

Over the years I have seen how Google has changed and we have needed to learn and adapt the services we recommend & provide based on the results we achieve.
This depth of knowledge we apply to our customer marketing campaigns.

Translating Complex Stats into Plain English since 2002

Knowing how important it is to understand marketing performance I was a very early adopter of Website analytics to track the performance of websites. At that time Google analytics was not a thing so we used a system called URCHIN. Urchin Software Corporation was acquired by Google in March 2005 and 6 months later Google analytics was launched. I have been using Google Analytics and reporting on website and marketing performance since before it started.

A Passion for Educating & Speaking

It is not that I love my own voice…. I am passionate about what I do and enjoy passing on this knowledge to business owners.
So whether that is on a stage talking to hundreds of business owners at once or in a one to one zoom going through a business owners idea it is all about helping those understand.

The online world is so vast with so many complex facets and many business owners come to us wanting the new latest thing as they have been told “you need this”.
The reality is they were being sold to and not advised. Not all marketing channels will work for all sectors and companies, they also have varying levels of cost and effort to implement correctly so they will give the results wanted. We pride ourselves on our ‘ethical marketing advice’ standpoint. We will advise you truthfully and give you as much information, research and knowledge needed so you can make the right decision for your business.

Systemisation and the Advent of A.I.

With the advent of A.I. we still use our analytical & educational approach to help customer make the right choices. We will recommend A.I. to our clients where needed but always with an eye on results.

A Love for Water… (possibly not so relevant to your business needs)

I had moment in 2023 where I realised that I am happiest in on or under the water.
I have always been a water baby. As a child I would spend hours in the swimming pool. Not plowing up and down doing length, that is not how I roll, but just head down under the water or just sitting at the bottom.
When travelling the world the best thing I did by a country mile was a 5 day white water rafting trip in Nepal, down the Kali Gandaki river.
When the Lee Valley White Water Centre was build for the 2012 Olympics I started white water kayaking and just love. So much so I took the whole team to Bovec in Slovenia in 2024 for a week of jumping into rivers, rafting and kayaking.
Last year I re-qualified a scuba diver (my last dive was 29 years ago)
I spend 2 weeks each summer wake boarding in the Mediterranean.
